The Tamil Festival Australia is a collective effort of multiple Tamil community organizations to bring the Tamil Australians and the wider community together to celebrate the prominent Tamil festival ‘Thai Pongal’, nature and the diverse cultures of Australia.
It demonstrates the Tamil Australians’ passion to share their heritage with other communities to strengthen the multiculturalism and their commitment towards the betterment of Australia. Furthermore, it articulates the importance of officially recognizing, educating and reflecting upon Tamil heritage for future generations of any origin.
Casey Tamil Manram Inc. inaugurated ‘The Tamil Festival’ Celebration along with the first ever ‘Thai Pongal’ Celebration at the Victorian Parliament House in 2019 with the support of fellow community organizations.The Tamil Festival movement encourages united Pongal events, Pongal event at Parliament Houses, Tamil Heritage Exhibitions and a month long activities to mark the ‘Tamil Heritage Month’ across all the states of Australia.
